Linville - le petit café

If you haven’t been to Linville yet, you have to go! Immediately! Get your sunglasses on, a book and a pen and head to the loveliest, cozy little piece of magical world, full of classical Jazz and Blues. A glass of very dry, Tanqueray Martini, served straight up with a twist becomes an enchanting journey to the fairy world of bohemian 20's.

The dimly light rooms of dark indigo and pink ivory float into “the Autumn Leaves”; next to the “Blue Moon” and the “Blueberry Hill”. Yet, Ella and Louis bewitch the atmosphere when “Dancing cheek to cheek”. And sometimes, even Ray Charles scares the romance away by rock N’ Rollin’ the “road of Jack”.

Every once in a while a pianist pulls off the chair and the old piano breathes out the tunes of Billie Holiday.

You order a club sandwich and a blackberry ice tea… Sit at the ancient fireplace or at a terrace… There is no better place to dream, remember and watch how your ordinary day melts into the electrifying evening of summer. Don’t be greedy and treat pleasant waiters back with respect and smile (and a nice tip never killed anybody). Be kind – that’s part of Linville’s style. After all, aren’t we all supposed to grin and laugh and wink and live the life?!

Sitting here, at my favorite tiny table, reading “Le Petit Prince” (for the 100th time): I only wish there were more cherry pies and vanilla cupcakes; - Life would have become so much more exciting!

Here’s what I got in Linville: Live fast! Take your girl by the hand and travel back to the future through this petit café. After all, you only live once and if you do it right, once won’t be enough…
